Today I got the chance to learn more about Juliet Rose. Like myself she’s comfortable writing in a number of genres including horror, suspense, and action thriller.
Her book CARRYING THE DEAD was entered in The BookFest International Book Awards (2023) where she took 2nd place and was called a “Supernatural/Paranormal Phenomenon!”
One Amazon reviewer (Sally Feliz) had this to say, “It's a perfect choice for those times when a moody reader can't decide which book to read, this one satisfies the itch for paranormal and psychological fiction, while also encompassing family drama, mystery, and even a little bit of romance.”
Tell me a little about yourself.
I was born in Long Island NY, however, lived a very transient childhood, including a period where my mother, brother, and I lived in an RV and traveled around the US and Mexico doing street performances and staying in campgrounds. I do have a day job :(, legal compliance manager.
Why write horror? What is it about writing terrifying scenes that excites you?
I write just about everything but am drawn to horror because it was such a big part of me defining myself in my teens. Learning to explore my boundaries and push myself to the edge.
What’s the scariest book you’ve read? And why?
I can't remember the name but as a teen I read a book about a real life serial killer and it haunts me to this day. I try to stay away from true stories like that now. My favourite book that I’ve read lately has to be THE WATCHERS by A.M. Shine.
What are you working on now?
Not horror, suspense. It's a standalone and involves a woman on the run, a plane crash, a terrorist group, a one-armed rock climber, and plutonium.
