Today on MASTERS OF HORROR we get the chance to meet one of my favourites, Iain Rob Wright. Wright is one of horror's most respected authors with a catalog of over twenty books, many of them bestsellers. A previous Kindle All-Star and a mainstay in the horror charts, he is a prolific producer of unique and original stories. From his apocalyptic saga THE GATES to his claustrophobic revenge thriller ASBO, Iain writes across a broad spectrum of sub genres, creating both beloved series and standalone titles.
I first discovered Wright through his book FINAL WINTER which is still a favourite. Contained, nasty and deadly, his writing is all of that with bullet-train pacing that will leave you breathless. His latest series, The Cursed Manuscripts, he has discovered an absolute genius way to promote stand-alone horror stories in a shared universe.
Through his steady career in the horror market he has shown time and time again that the horror genre can be profitable, and fun, and if you love what you do you’ll never have to work a day in your life!

Tell me a little about yourself.
I was born and still live in the Birmingham Satteilite town of Redditch. I have been a fulltime writer for 12 years.
Why write horror? What is it about writing terrifying scenes that excites you?
Horror is about triumph and I find it uplifting. The characters face adversity and find the strength to overcome.
What’s the scariest book you’ve read? And why?
Ever Nat by Ed Lee. I won't talk about it...
What are you working on now? Is it a standalone? Part of a series?
I have many books in the pipeline in various series new and old. My Cursed Manuscripts are all standalone novels in a shared universe.
