Johnny Compton (he/him) is a San Antonio based author whose short stories have appeared in several publications since 2006, including Pseudopod, Strange Horizons and The No Sleep Podcast. His fascination with frightening fiction started when his kindergarten teacher played a record of the classic ghost story “The Golden Arm” for her class. The Spite House is his debut novel through Tor Nightfire.


Philip Alexander Baker started his writing career as lyricist for British indie band Lemanis, which released two albums, Shell, and The Truth Behind the Push-Me-Pull-You. Life as a filmmaker and screenwriter followed, including writing the award-winning A Story for Happy, and producing the British crime drama films Killing Lionel and Card Dead.

The House on Hanging Hill Lane is his first book.


Maxwell Stegner was born and raised in California and has worked for the past decade as a Large Industrial Mechanic, building and repairing rollercoasters.

Today, Maxwell lives in the Bay Area, with his family and in his free time, he enjoys working out, reading, writing, and volunteering for good causes. A great lover of the outdoors, he frequently takes his family on camping trips and once hiked 75 miles in the New Mexico wilderness, making shelters, foraging for food, and collecting water from streams.

Elizabeth J. Brown was born in Kent, England. This probably explains her obsession with tea and cake. She currently writes the Brimstone Chorus series - dark fantasy horror featuring demons, witches and a whole host of things that go bump in the night.

Her debut novel, The Laughing Policeman, takes place in 1980s England and features detectives, dark supernatural forces and dry humour.

When she isn’t in front of her laptop or spending time with her family, Elizabeth is usually absorbed in a book, film or anything that involves the strange, fantastical or supernatural.

William's works include the psychological horror novel "The Man Behind the Door" and the supernatural horror novel "The Devil Within Us All," William takes inspiration from his own experiences to craft novels that tackle the horrors and demons of real life.

His debut, The Man Behind the Door, tackles grief, trauma, and addiction through the lens of a ghost story and explores generational trauma.  It was acclaimed for its compassionate tone, handling of the difficult subject matter, and multiple storylines that come together in the end.

He currently works full-time as a pharmacy technician at an independent pharmacy while raising son and daughter with his wife.  In his free time, he enjoys outings with his family, reading, and playing music.


Ryan (He/Him) is an English/Creative writing Graduate from Missouri State University. He is a photographer, filmmaker, writer, and veteran. His work is available or forthcoming in Writing Lifeworlds: An Anthology of Creative Nonfiction, Flash Fiction Magazine, Night Picnic Journal, and Microfiction Monday Magazine. Ryan is the founder and editor-in-chief of Pyre Magazine. Ryan's first novella, Killing My Flesh Without You, is available now with his forthcoming Halloween Anthology, The Halloween Party: and Other Tales of All Hallows Eve Terror, set to drop on October 3rd. He lives in Southwest Missouri with his wife and daughters and their menagerie of domesticated animals.


Edmund Stone is a writer of horror and fantasy living in a quaint river town in the Ohio Valley. But mostly he lives in his head where he derives a wealth of characters and strange ideas. He writes at night, spinning tales of strange worlds and horrifying encounters with the unknown. He lives with his wife, three dogs, and a plethora of cats.


Z. Martin is a horror short story author. A husband and father of three. A former marine and a full time worker. Z enjoys spending time with family and wood working when not trying to horrify people with his stories.


C.M. Forest, also known as Christian Laforet, is the author of the novel Infested, the novella We All Fall Before the Harvest, the short story collection The Space Between Houses, as well as the co-author of the short-story collection No Light Tomorrow. His short fiction has been featured is several anthologies across multiple genres. A self-proclaimed horror movie expert, he spent an embarrassing amount of his youth watching scary movies. When not writing, he lives in Ontario, Canada with his wife, kids, three cats and a pandemic dog named Sully who has an ongoing love affair with a blanket. Matthew Mercer is an up-and-coming horror author that started writing as a hobby, only to find a deep interest in all aspects of storytelling. Being a lifelong fan of horror films, especially slashers, he hopes to use his knowledge of the genre to provide a fresh experience that will keep readers wanting more.
