I am Bishop Mizu, a young African American writer from Detroit, Michigan. I have loved horror for years.

This will be an ongoing series. I will drop multiple chapters each month for this dark novel, or I might surprise you with random drops. I want to build an active community of fellow writers to give any advice or valid criticisms freely. Check out my work on WATTPAD

THE GOD OF FALSE LOVE

by

Bishop Mizu

Erosath, the Unbound Desolation, is an Outer God that embodies the darker aspects of love, lust, and romance. This eldritch entity gains its most potent power on Valentine's Day and other holidays with love as a central theme, amplifying the emotions it feeds upon. It revels in the twisted rituals and dark ceremonies that serve to further its influence over humanity, with its favourite prey being lovers.

According to ancient lore, in the early days of humanity, when tribes of man were still in their infancy, they often sacrificed Erosath to appease its ravenous hunger for the darker aspects of love. These sacrifices often involved profound suffering and despair, as Erosath's appetite for anguish and torment knows no bounds.

Erosath's origins can be traced to a separate plane of existence within the omniverse, a realm saturated with the raw, unbridled emotions of love and desire. It is believed that Erosath emerged from this plane, drawn by the anguish and longing of mortals, and took root in the very fabric of human existence.

The Unbound Desolation is known to manifest through avatars resembling the love gods of Earth, such as Cupid. These avatars serve as conduits through which Erosath can sow the seeds of twisted passion and evil affection. They whisper sweet promises of love and devotion, leading their unsuspecting victims to despair and ruin.

Erosath's influence can also be traced back to early creatures and humans who first experienced love, only to have their emotions corrupted and perverted by the insidious touch of the Unbound Desolation. These unfortunate individuals became vessels for Erosath's influence, spreading its dark tendrils of obsession and possessiveness throughout the ages.

As Valentine's Day approaches, Erosath's power swells to its zenith, and the Unbound Desolation seeks to enthrall humanity with its dark allure, perpetuating the cycle of suffering and despair that has marked its existence since time immemorial.

It is rumoured that Erosath has a temple made from the bones of its countless lovers, with their blood used in its macabre symbols of love. Some even say that Erosath gave birth to the false god of Earth, an Outer God parasite that feeds off human faith and intense emotions, which in turn created the Incubus and Succubus. Erosath is known to take the form of a fertility god.
